St. Genevieve Council 14772 joined the Panorama City community on October 1, 2026, for the dedication of Kapwa Square at Roscoe Boulevard and Woodman Avenue. The gathering opened Filipino American History Month by honoring the culture, history, and enduring contributions of Filipino Americans in the San Fernando Valley.
Los Angeles City Councilmember Imelda Padilla welcomed civic leaders, community partners, students, families, and neighbors to the ceremony. Representatives of participating organizations received recognition as the community celebrated the new landmark and the shared spirit expressed by the Filipino value of kapwa—our connection and responsibility to one another.
Council 14772 members proudly took part in the morning’s celebration, standing alongside local partners and enjoying fellowship throughout the program. From the unveiling of the Kapwa Square marker to the colorful Filipino jeepney, the day offered a joyful reminder that faith, heritage, and service grow stronger when the community comes together.
